Summer in Highland County VA
A Nature Photography Workshop
Bear Mountain Farm and Retreat
June 2009 dates pending
The Alleghany Highlands in Highland County, Virginia, are unique for their biodiversity, scenic vistas and high elevation wonders. Providing temperatures averaging in the upper 70’s, this is a great place to enjoy the mountains in summer and escape the hot humid weather of lowland Virginia. Our host, Bear Mountain Farm and Wilderness Retreat, offers mountain vistas, summer fields, wildflowers, ponds, and a variety of wildlife. Plan to start early with sunrise and stay up past sunset to catch the best light. A full moon is also in the agenda so bring lots of memory cards or film. Lodging and meals are provided with the workshop so we won’t waste time hunting for restaurants. I plan an action packed photography learning experience complete with shooting, lectures, more shooting, critiques and more shooting. This beautiful setting is sure to offer an exciting palette.
